Search Engine Market Share

ComScore released its October U.S. search engine market share figures on Monday. 

Overall search volume grew 20.1% year-over-year to 12.6 B. This was a decline in growth from September's 25.5% pace in September.
  • Google's annual growth in U.S. search volume slowed from 38.6% in September to 29.6% in October and its market share Google increased slightly by .002% to 63.1%.
  • Yahoo’s market share rose .003% to 20.5%, 
  • Microsoft’s market share remained flat at 8.5%
  • Ask’s dropped 001% to 4.2%
  • AOL’s dropped 0.004% to 3.7%
While Google’s growth rate slowed in October, both Yahoo’s and Microsoft’s picked up speed. Yahoo’ s U.S. search volume grew 7.7 percent (up 0.6) and Microsoft’s grew 4.2 percent (up 1.2). Together they still only account for 29 percent of U.S. search market share.
